How Does A Break Barrel Work

RANGE 12/17/2009 02/10/1912 VALLADOLID

who has had the luck of ever closer to the old schools of Arrabal de Portillo, and has been enjoying some of the concerts that take place within its walls has long been well understood so that there is something special. And if you think about it, you realize The ingredients for this recipe goes well are evident, although not as easy to get. To begin, a group of seven people who insist on organizing a series of concerts and try (and fail) to maintain a schedule that runs from January to March, year after year since 1999. As they say, with few resources but much illusion, which is what it takes to make things come to fruition.
To follow, a place with a unique flavor and charm, who was about to disappear and they got back to your project, and it also keeps the stove that gives name to this beautiful adventure, which of course turns in each concert. We've said it before what we like scenarios that keep you near from the people and facilitate the close and magical. So are the classrooms.
And third, a loyal and dedicated, without which all this would be impossible to perform, because they are the object of it. And because there is no public "show" it is worth.
With all that together, it's easy for musicians we are pleased to participate in the concerts of the stove. But once we pass. Who are there day after day keeping the story and adding fuel to the range they are.
The trip was like a "deja vu". Valladolid destination, the same highway in the past December trip, snowed again, and again making a fool with the snow (some more than others)

The photos are not very good but the time it deserved, or not?

and eating not only in the same restaurant, but at the same table and everyone in the same place. And I would say that in some cases eating the same, but just as you would think I'm exaggerating a bit. Everyone who thinks that seems ...

The landscape and light were precious ...

Once there we were with Oscar and went to look for pottery he and his brother have in Arrabal de Portillo, very close to the schools where they do concerts. Oscar joined us up, Portillo, the house where we would spend the night. We take coffee with him, chatted a while, and went to rest a little until it was time to soundcheck.
Although we were very little time in Portillo, we found some things we especially liked. One, the great house that allowed us to use. "The House of Enhorcadora", recently restored, and how ... Take a look here to see it, is worth it, and stay with your address if ever. The pity is that we had very little time to enjoy it.
El Castillo. We asked if we could visit, and told us it was still possible the next morning, but had to leave early and was complicated, so the visit was postponed for the next time we go out there. We would have liked, had a great pint.

"The vestry." It's a bar, a pub and restaurant, all accommodated in an old church, as we were told, still belongs to the archdiocese. We felt amazing. The truth is that it still preserves elements of the church, and when mixed with the decor, the result is very attractive.

Going into the vestry.

We ran the name of this candy. And it's funny. Today making the purchase in the supermarket I usually go, I've found on the shelves of sweets Portillo some muffins, confectionery Humility.

Julian low and down the stairs armed with the camera. We will prove sound.

After little while "off" and went to meet Oscar and headed for school. "Pistol" of Divertimento Folk was our sound technician, and by half past nine was all tested and ready.

In this picture you can see the mythical stove, and burned to heat the room.

At ten o'clock, as scheduled, after Peter we submit, we started the concert. And what looked to be gone. From the first time an incredible atmosphere, I think both we and the audience were delighted ...

at every concert is an intermission, and then people take a typical pasta from there along with a wine, both donated by some merchants in town. It was a nice time in which we talk to everyone who came to ask something about our music and our instruments, as there are people in our lives see them close for the first time. In this case, Oscar told us that until that day, or a harp or a nyckelharpa had stepped the school setting. Quite an honor ...

With the cream in hand, we will greet Carmen. Our friend James could not come, but she would not want to lose and came to see us. We are happy to see her.

Chatting with people and taking the glass of wine with pasta.

Enjoying
During dinner we were told that the public at concerts is dealt a coupon so they can vote from 0 to 5, what they think of the performance of each day. Most valued group was invited back the following year.

What
yes he held until the time was the record album sales. For now, the "Hard Clay" is ours. See if you can keep ...
Photo pity that we did later. We ended the evening with laughter and dancing. Quite a show ... And a thousand, to sleep in "The House of Enhorcadora."
few hours of sleep (rather few), and after leaving shaking the freshly cooked omelette of the sacristy, put the van Mucientes direction. But this already belongs to a different post.
Thanks for the welcome, for your kindness, and a kiss for all the people of the stove. To continue burning wood.
